… on early potty-training!!

off the pottyI found myself in a photo album I forgot I had. “Mein Kind” dedicated to me, pictures from the first couple of years of my life. I was cute then.

Strange what you remember… The blanket that covered me in my baby carriage (or the baby sled) was around the house until I moved out.

There are pictures of Adelboden. We used to go there for vacations. One of my earliest memories was of my brother shoveling snow one beautiful winter morning and not letting me try as well. I threw a hissy-fit… When he finally gave me the shovel, I, of course, couldn’t lift it. I remember that like it was yesterday and that was when I was around 3 or 4 years old.

Oh, and everything I wore then was hand-knitted.

Besides the stats of my birth (born 17. March 19xx (you don’t expect me to tell you the year…) at 12:40 pm, 5.5 kg; another page records “Notes about important events in the life of our child”. That’s where I found it!

  1. It was recorded that I produced a positive result in the potty at the ripe old age of 92 days, or 5 months.
  2. Eleven days later the appearance of the first tooth was noted, middle bottom tooth.
  3. 15 days after that first positive result, a #1 and #2 in the potty was joyously recorded.
  4. The last note was entered 7 years later when I attended the first violin lesson.

Marianne & Tony

I am still crying, I am laughing so hard. According to today’s child-rearing recommendations, I was potty-trained too early and so now I have something to blame all my past and current woes on… Thanks Mom!
