Just a thought

Am shredding…

May 3, 2006

… my past!

What a trip through memory lane. I found stuff I printed in 1989, written on my first computer an “IBM Clone” XT. (The hard drive was huge – 20MB, “it’ll last forever!”.) I formatted it with Publisher v. 1, printed it on my dot-matrix printer. A poem to my husband… I’ll keep a copy of that one. See, I can’t let go completely, we would have been married for 20 years this year.

Not so poetic was some completely different correspondence, from even earlier times, in nasty tones; a time in my life I’ll never forget, but can now put to rest… zing… shredded! Then I found my computer work life, notes, lists, schedules, business cards. To think of it, that first computer changed the course of my life. Compelled me to go back to school, get a Associate Degree and become a computer nerd, all before that term was coined.

Should I keep the Travel Guide for Flight Attendants from way back when? Na, let’s clean it all out. Perhaps I’ll see the top of my desk again… forgot what colour it is. 🙂

…I’d have missed this

Sitting at the table, enjoying a late breakfast, as I do most weekends, I looked up and there was Bambi. In its winter coat, the young deer was enjoying breakfast too. I usually have the Camera sitting within reach, so I started taking pictures through the fairly spotty windows.

Yeah, I should have been at a union meeting, but 10:00h is too early, and my weekends are my own. It is sunny though, so it’s time to get outside and start cleaning up what the recent storms left behind…
